Insecure Writers Support Group February

This is the first Wednesday in the month so it is time once again for the IWSG. So last month, I must say, I did not meet the goals I set for myself in ROW80. I was in the hospital for 10 days and unable to work on my novel. I feel so inadequate at this time. I wish I was more dedicated, but I know that I have to take care of my health before I can get back to tormenting my characters. However, I also know that sometimes if I don't make myself write I will just be lazy and not do it.

What do you do to keep yourself motivated?

  1. There are many set backs on the writer's journey. Setting goals helps and having small rewards for yourself when you reach them (like a new book!) helps. Take care and get better soon.

  2. First, you are most important. A book can wait, focus on your health and feel better. I find my motivation in every day things. I admit, sometimes I just don't write as much as I'd like and that's okay. It's a nice break.

    Hope you feel better!

  3. Your health is more important, the writing can wait.

  4. When I get sick, I always feel guilty for not being able to write, but I really shouldn't. Sometimes it's more important to focus on other things, like health, than to get those words out. They will still be there when you're better and feeling up to writing.

  5. If you were in the hospital, you had far more important things to focus on last month! Don't worry. Writing isn't a race.
